Meet the Team
Carolyn McMahon has been working to solve financial inclusion problems for over a decade. Her work at FemFinance centers the experiences of people, especially women, as the key to unlocking smart solutions to systemic problems. Carolyn’s consulting practice leverages human-centered design and qualitative data analysis to inform strategic decision-making and measure social impact. She has experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs in the fields of financial health, fintech, payments, and policy.
Previously, Carolyn served as Program Officer for the Fletcher Leadership Program for Financial Inclusion and as Innovation Strategist for Commonwealth, where she led the organization’s work on mobile financial technology for underserved Americans. Carolyn worked with ACCION East, managing the MicrotestImpact study for 2010 and served as a French translator for Kiva.org’s microlending platform. Carolyn holds a Master’s degree in Development Economics and Conflict Resolution from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and a B.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

Lucia Tawfik has extensive experience applying quantitative and qualitative research methods. Lucia was an Economist and Project Manager for nearly a decade with AECOM's Asset and Advisory practice and is adept at managing complex, multidisciplinary projects. Lucia’s wide range of experience includes working with nonprofit and for-profit organizations, regional planning agencies, city planning departments, and institutional investors.
Lucia received a Bachelor of Arts in both Political Science and Communications from the University of California, San Diego and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from University of California, Los Angeles.

Ramya works at the intersection of strategy, data, and public policy to help organizations make better evidence-based decisions. She transitioned from management consulting to government and not-for-profit consulting to apply her skills in strategy and data analysis to strengthening measurement frameworks and improving program design. She has extensive experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder engagements with the Indian government, spanning policy analysis, program design and implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
Ramya holds a Master’s degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, with a focus on international development and international business.
